Carmel Cottage Inn

My husband and I stayed in Moon Gate, and call it The Enchanted Cottage. We can't say enough about our stay there! It was cozy and immaculate, charming and restfully decorated, had all necessities and a well-equipped kitchen - even an apron! The Dutch doors - entry and kitchen - were fun touches. The surrounding gardens are just as charming and unique as the interior! It's a block from the beach and enjoyed the sounds of the sea in our cottage. It's a short, easy, and beautiful walk to shops and restaurants as well. Service was exceptional. Our favorite accommodations anywhere - any of the cottages in fact - by far!

Very reasonable price and the cottage was the cleanest stay I’ve ever been in. The front desk was super nice and even offered us a better cottage when we checked in. Only a five minute drive to the beach.

Beautiful, historic, quaint, lovely. A perfect house for a getaway with two families. A block and a half walk to Carmel Beach was very convenient with young kids. If you enjoy history, clean and comfortable beds, and gardens then this place would be ideal for you.

May 2021-we stayed in the Sky View cottage. Absolutely the most perfect little place, beyond immaculate, and everything you need is right there. Especially loved the roof top deck. Very private. Just perfect! Within safe walking distance into town and one block from the beach. This place is a gem. Take a few minutes to check out the gardens and the moon gate at night. Definitely recommend, if you love a unique home away from home this is your place!

We had a wonderful stay at Carmel Cottage Inn, and the Home Port Cottage was absolutely perfect. The cottage is a charming one-story space that instantly feels warm and welcoming. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we loved having a patio that opens right onto the rose garden — such a peaceful spot to relax. Home Port truly felt homey and cozy, making it an ideal place to unwind after exploring Carmel. The location couldn’t be better: just one block from the ocean and within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. If you’re looking for a comfortable, charming, and perfectly located place to stay in Carmel, Carmel Cottage Inn is a fantastic choice. We would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful cottage in a cluster of properties that belong to the Cottage Inn. The one I stayed in, Tradewinds, was gorgeous and meticulously clean, comfortable and providing all the comforts one could expect, including in the kitchen. The hot water for showers appeared unending, even for the fifth person. The heating system worked well and it includes a gas fireplace that makes the room cozy. The neighborhood is quiet and just one block from the beach.

The cottages are perfect in every way! The incredible art from local artists, and touches of decor that make them feel like home. The ocean is a short walk down the street, the weather was incredible. I love that the kitchen was equipped with anything we could need and treats to take home from the owner/management. We had an amazing weekend and cannot wait to come back!

These are the cutest cottages ever! This was our 5th time back, it's time to give credit where credit is due. Cheryl's top notch attention to detail and preservation reflect throughout each cottage. The excellent surrounding gardens stop you in your tracks and are worthy of a visit alone. This enchanting corner across from Carmel Beach will forever be an ideal retreat. We were here over Christmas and the cottages were perfectly appointed. Thank you Cheryl, we cannot wait to be back!
